So a Graduate degree is great for INTEL, but should anyone be telling this person how incredibly difficult it is to get INTEL right now?
INTEL results for JAN and FEB
"14 selected!! 135 non-selects 9.3% acually pretty good." quoted from navy-officer.com/blog.
Yes, you need to improve your packet in order to resubmit. Most people on here will say that this improvement needs to be in either GPA or ASTB, and not LOR, PRT or other stuff. Talk to your OR, see what he says.
You guys need to STFU about your big league schools. Where it's at is Oakland University in Rochester, MI. We specialize in rich whiny douche bags, our previous mascot used to be a sail (that looked like a diaper), and our athletics are so prestigious that our achievements include: making the...
I'm in the same boat as Sparo and bmaru. Of course, everyone and thier brother is going to tell you to just study your ass off and retake the ASTB, you'll do fine and get in. Well maybe, if you're like me, you have retaken the ASTB already, which means you have to wait 90 or so days from that...
IIRC, that's great! And I've been thinking the same thing about the LOR. I get the impression that the rules are just kind of like guidelines. I have double checked with my OR and basically, my OR talked to the SWO Program Manager (I don't know if that's the correct title) and thinks that I got...
non-select SWO january
non-select INTEL february
So here I am up for reconsideration in March. I've gone from "full retard" on the ASTB (39 OAR) to 48, successfully average. I also have one more LOR and an Outstanding PRT.
This is me. Applying SWO only(straight OCS)
22M
3.78 GPA Oakland...
yeah, mine said the same thing. He said there were like 3 or 4 full pages of names that were non-select. Which pretty much means that it was competitive because there were so many damn applicants. If there's anyone like me up for SWO in March, we're hoping that there are not quite so many!
It...
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I'm so gosh darn anxious! :sleep_125
Scrawny is better than super fat ass. They'll take you seriously if you are indeed serious. I strongly recommend going to see an Officer Recruiter as soon as possible. The whole process can take a short while or in other cases, a long long ass time.
I cannot stress enough: Who cares if you're a...
I wouldn't worry so much about the PRT right now. As long as you are doing some kind of weekly training, you should be able to crank out the minimums whenever you have to take it, which is normally way way down the line in the process.
What you should be doing now, is talking with an Officer...
I've never seen anyone on here say, "I got my confirmation." The only way to do it is by starting your post like: "Pro rec XXXX!"
I actually thought the confirmation was merely that he had made the boards. I didn't get the joke until I scrolled down. It was a nice try, though.
What's even...
Yeah, my run was definitely not Outstanding. Since my OR said I ran an outstanding on the PRT, I assumed that it was because I maxed out on the push ups and sit ups, and then my run was averaged in there.
I also smoked his run, though he did do 1 more push up and like 2 more sit ups just...
Everybody's been talking about buying good shoes....I sell shoes, the only one's I can sell without having bitches return them are the "Nike airmax 360." Trust me on them. I wear them and sell them to all of my hardcore runners.
Also, for insoles look up "Superfeet." Unless you have broken...
Kat, They do give you rest time in between exercises. My rest time involved me waiting for my OR, because he also ran the PRT with me.
You do pushups, situps, then run.
I'm pretty sure that they must average the scores together. I did the max in pushups and situps, which is obviously...
jorgelito, The rate between sets is up to you. When I first started I'd take a couple of minutes in between so that I didn't kill myself. Now, I take virtually no break in between sets.
I did this workout every other day for a month. (sometimes I took the weekends off)
I just took my PRT today, and got an outstanding low. I figured I'd post, what I think is a more efficient way to obtain at least an Outstanding Low on the PRT.
awolfinwater posted something similar to this, but this is what I did.
1.5, 2, and 3 mile runs every other workout. (8-9 mph on...

They went away with the 50 apps per board thing last month, but who knows for this month. Until we know for sure, I say we post these at the end of all of our posts :icon_rage:icon_rage:icon_rage.
Click on the ASTB section of this site, it has all you need for mechanical comprehension.

And don't feel like a dumbass (unless you are one ). I went from a 39 to a 48 on my OAR the second time that I took it.
Horse,
Everyone is going to suggest that you retake the ASTB. But you may not have to. With your impressive academic and job related stats, you will probably be good for SWO. We've all seen much shittier stats get in. If they say non-select, retake...and boom, apply again.
I'm up for SWO in march and I'm running my PRT on Friday. If I run my ass off, I should be an exellent low, I'll let yous guys know how it goes.
P.S. Is it ironic that my PRT is at the YMCA? I keep thinking Village People, "In the Navy" and "YMCA," It must be a conspiracy.
sciguy, don't even bother looking at Sailorbob or usnavyocs. Sailorbob is impossible to navigate and not even all that helpful. Plus, every thread on usnavyocs is like 10 years old.
From what my OR tells me, a score in the 50s is competitive for SWO. I can't speak for SUPPLY. One other thing...
Little Jorge, INTEL did not meet in January, so you'll probably have to wait until Feb. SWO is definitely decided, so I'm not sure what's up with that.
And for all of you guys talking about ASTB, GRE (I just vomited), ARCO, BARRON'S, and the Marine Gouge, look at this site. It's all you need.
http://navy-officer.com/astb.html
I have no clue. Maybe because they only select a handful of people, or maybe because they're INTEL...spies, sneaky :icon_smil. I hope its the latter and that I get selected in February!
Jeffe,
Are your scores good enough for SNA? maybe. Are they good enough for NFO? maybe again, but you have a better chance. Should you take the ASTB again if you think you can do better? Definitely.
The only thing you have to contemplate is whether you want to submit with your current...
Definitely submit as soon as you can. If you do get in on the February boards, know that like this month SWO is jam packed with applicants. My OR said they looked at something like 165 this month, and it will be around the same for February. I'm not trying to discourage you, just giving you the...
I had trouble with my SF 86 as well, when I would go to print it, all of the information would go blank. My OR just printed it out for me. I'd sugget that route.
I got a very interesting call from my OR today. This weekend I was very busy commiserating and trying to think of reasons why I was not selected for SWO, since my recruiter and I thought I was a shoe in (pun intended).
My OR called and talked to the program manager to see if he could get...
