    OCS questions

My advice, bring like 5 extra rolls of the 1" athletic tape. You live by that stuff, and you burn through. You'll be marking EVERYTHING with that stuff. another recommendation is to bring your own name stamp. Go to an office store (ex: office max) and get your last name on it, ESPECIALLY if you...

    Strong candidate?

Thats because Aerospace Engineers are competing for the flight slots with the AFROTC, and we have no NROTC, so USMC is the next best thing, and they guarantee slight slots before we even go in.

    OCS disqualification

I'm going for USMC OCS, and I know a guy who even got a pilot slot with a DUI. He had a Pretty strong package, but he still got that pilot slot. As long as you look like you've excercised good moral character since that event, I would bet you'd be ok. I don't know much about the Navy's programs...

    colorblindness test..

No I understand what you mean. But It is impossible to cheat. If you can't see it, than you're screwed because the places you have to go for the eye exams are all different. I totally agree about those cheating to pass. You can train your eyes though too. And those eye exams don't mean you...

    colorblindness test..

hey jg5343, you are odviously pretty ignorant when it comes to this matter. do some research on colorblindness. I can see reds, I can see greens, and I can see most other colors. Being colorblind won't kill anybody. Being a crappy pilot is what kills people. You don't understand that...

    colorblindness test..

i'm not sure how many books they show you. But they eyes are very trainable. If that doesn't work, than the falant is the next step. Email me with your cousin's email, I want to know how he did that.
  28. A

    colorblindness test..

by the way, I can see green and I can see red, my eyes just don't see them well when they're all mixed in together in those dot tests. I have a waiver for the FAA.
  29. A

    colorblindness test..

That light test is called the FALANT. Or otherwise known as the Farnsworth Lantern. People who aren't colorblind don't understand. If you fail those other tests, you can take the FALANT which tests color perception. Its acceptable for Naval/Marine Aviatiors, the AF doesn't accept that anymore. I...

    Aviation medical question

Hey guys, I'm a flight student at ERAU in Az. Graduating in the spring. I'm kind of colorblind. I have a waiver from the FAA, but I'm wondering how intense are the eye exams to fly in the USMC? My vision is 20/20, I'm just a little red/green colorblind. A friend of mine told me that when he was...
