I've got a solid .4 of stick time in whatever bird "double nutz" happens to be (RAG bird). Pretty fun doing steeps and landing at around 600? VSI or so at ole' Harold OLF in the Phrog. Do that in a Cobra and you'll be lucky to walk away.

I probably know who that was. We send Cobras up that way all the time for CCXs. Haven't been myself, but that's probably because Vegas is so enticing.

I don't know. I had a family friend who was a Major in the late 80s/early 90s and in the pictures on his wall he had a full civilian-esque haircut for his uniform photos. He said that was common at the time.

The regs changed I believe sometime during the 90s. I don't know the exact date as I wasn't in the Corps then, but in the Old Corps, you could grow your hair longer.

Stayed in Lubbock, TX on a cross country once. Not too bad at all, some nice hotels pretty close to the University. FBO was nothing to write home about, but did the job.
