Extremely humbling and inspirational . . . . quite the contrast from the "reform" crowd . . . . .

I watched it last night. I originally thought “well ‘cause Bunk posted it I should take a look”… I was mesmerized! Hell, I’m 64 and ready to re-enlist!:) The guy made a from-the-heart speech. What a leader and inspiration this man must be to his troops.

Vera, Chuck, and Dave would be very proud of you.
How do you remember this stuff?:) (Sorry for the threadjack, Bunk.)

When I get older losing my hair,
Many years from now.
Will you still be sending me a valentine
Birthday greetings bottle of wine.

If I'd been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door,
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.

You'll be older too,
And if you say the word,
I could stay with you.

I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone.
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride.

Doing the garden, digging the weeds,
Who could ask for more.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.

Every summer we can rent a cottage,
In the Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera, Chuck & Dave

Send me a postcard, drop me a line,
Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, wasting away

Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.

Well I liked the song – and the Beatles - although I thought it didn't apply to me.
When I'm 64 years? YHGTBSM!
I always figured to die young and thus leave a good-looking corpse. But alas fate prevailed.

Like Mickey Mantle said: "If I knew I was going to live so long, I would have taken better care of myself." I had no idea.

Life is a poker game. I drew a pretty good hand, played it well, and had some amazing luck to boot. Life is sweet, and sometimes great revenge. Protect it, cherish it, but don't worry about it too much. Live, fight, love, and make a bit of a difference.
