I'll answer my own question here. Monitor got back to me and the six month extension DOES apply to aviation contracts. There is an option to re-pay the money to get out of that extension obligation, which is the route I'm going. Hope this helps somebody else out in a decade.

My company of 205 that recently graduated was: ~50 Air 3 Law ~150 ground

My company graduated in December and two guys picked up competitive pilot slots, while three picked up UAS. They definitely distinguished between UAS and NA/NFO slots as well in the MOS breakdown. So competitive pilot slots are still happening.

I think it's a matter of high commissioning output but poor throughput here at TBS, due to infrastructure limitations (housing, classrooms, TAs, etc). I know several new SOQ's are going up at Camp Barrett that should help to mitigate this in the coming years and beyond.

My advice would be to get it done before entering the program. When I had it done my senior year of college there was a lot of pushback just to have the surgery due to needs of the Corps and I almost had to switch from SNA to NFO.
