    FY 20 IWC DCO Board

Non select for this board. I guess #8 will be the magic number!

    FY 19 IWC DCO BOARD

Depends on his career goals. He might want to serve in any capacity for 20 years. If he waits too long, that will not be an option for him. As for the other thread, his situation is different.... I hope he gets over his issue quoted here if he wants to be successful in the military.

    FY 19 IWC DCO BOARD

If you are shooting to retire with 20 years, you might want to start looking at your enlisted options soon. It can be any branch, reserve or active duty. All will stop the clock on eligibility (w/o a waiver).

DCOIC Gouge for those about to commission as a DCO

Thanks for the info. USERRA is a better one to look up and reference. The application process is to determine the equivalent job so falls within bounds of USERRA. USERRA does not 100% guarantee that you will have a job when you return to work.

DCOIC Gouge for those about to commission as a DCO

Don't automatically assume that all military time qualifies for the pay differential benefit that some companies offer. My company does not do this for more than 2 weeks a year if it is classified as training. So the 20 weeks or so for IP/CW training will be 18 weeks at military pay only. When I...

Uniforms! Holy Cow! These puppies are expensive! (Bonus: Tax writeoff gouge)

New with 2018 taxes, most people probably wont be able to meet the standard deduction threshold to justify these types of expenses.

    FY 19 IWC DCO BOARD

Once more into the fray! Its hard to believe that I've working at this since 2011. Something to say about persistence!

    FY 18 IWC DCO BOARD

IMHO, with a retention rate of DCO assendees as bad as they are, a hard look at the board process would be fiscally wise. A lot of money invested in training goes out the door when you have uber motivated individuals fall flat on qualification milestones.

    FY 18 IWC DCO BOARD

Congratulations to those who were selected. Unfortunately, this was not my year. I am looking forward to another board next year which will be #4 for me. Already working on improving my package. I have an action plan and will work toward my goals. Hopefully, I will be able to pick up the...

    FY 18 IWC DCO BOARD

Happy Halloween! I'm finally done with my packet for the next board. I feel my OIC interview went well but would still be interested in seeing the write-up. That along with the feed back from my SME interviews can only help me improve for next year if not selected.

    FY 18 IWC DCO BOARD

Now that I've been through this a couple of times, I've started going back and re-reading some older posts. Lots of good information! 3 more interviews to go until my package is ready.

    FY 18 IWC DCO BOARD

Just got done with MEPS and interviews are starting to get scheduled. I should be done with my package by EOM. Feeling accomplished!

    FY 18 IWC DCO BOARD

Package is coming together nicely. Waiting to be scheduled for the necessary interviews and a trip to MEPS. It's definitely easier the 3rd time around! Feeling accomplished!

    FY 18 IWC DCO BOARD

Finally time to contact an OR. I live in Tampa, FL and am currently in the USAFR. Anyone have a contact for a good (responsive) OR that serves my area? I'm not a big fan of cold calling some random number found on google.

    FY15 IDC DCO Boards

Enlisted back at my grade I left the Army with in 99, which was the deciding factor over enlisting in the Navy Reserves. AF ascension are less liberal when it comes to age. I applied for IP a few years ago 2x. I plan to apply for IP and IW.

    FY15 IDC DCO Boards

looks like it's time for me to pop back on here. Since my last run in 2012 and 2013, I bolstered my package by: joining the USAFR in an IDC related field earning my TS finishing my MSIT earning Secuirty+ accepting an IDC related position at work moving family 800 miles to take said position...

    FY 2013 IDC Boards

I'm still waiting. This is my 2nd time up. I will be reapplying in Sept if I get the non-select notice.

    FY 2013 IDC Boards

I just sent over all of the updates needed for my March package along with my first reconsideration letter to my OR. I know it’s a little early. I just wanted to try and forego the last minute jumping through hoops that went on a week before the last board’s deadline.

    FY 2013 IDC Boards

DPEP is definitely the route i would go if i decide to enlist. Still hopeful on DCO and will continue submitting my package as long as I feel I have something to offer.

    FY 2013 IDC Boards

Its the trivial stuff that always gets me. Questions like How many times do you hit page down to get through the TOS?

    FY 2013 IDC Boards

Not sure if it matters, but I just changed my Masters program to MSIS from MBA. I also plan on getting Network+ and A+ and if I have time Security+. I think thats about all I can do to help improve my package in the given time. If non-select in March, I will look to enlist.

    FY 2013 IDC Boards

still waiting for the word here also

    FY 2013 IDC Boards

Yeah. I started the process back in March after I earned my BSIS. I am going for IP for this board. I was surprised at the low number of req's. I'm hoping the numbers in March increase. I'm 39 with 8 years active duty in the Army, so I guess I have a few years available to continue...
