I went to Canada, and told my processor last minute after mentioning it previously. He was irked but said no biggie this time. You're supposed to file a leave chit before you go. If it's Canada or Mexico, sometimes your recruiter or processor will hold onto it and toss it away when u get back...

Yes. The "cylinder" portion of your prescription describes astigmatism. It can be fixed with PRK, but isn't a guaranteed thing.

Yes, MEPS is kinda dumb in that way. I tested to 20/20 in both eyes when my vision is more like 20/25 and 20/40 (Tested later at a civvy doc). I'm still within limits so I'm fine, but don't trust MEPS for your vision. See if you can get an extension on your FINDOCS to allow you to get PRK...

Well basically if your vision is <20/40, you will be found NPQ if that's what they put your eyes at at MEPS. No doubt about it. The limit on refractive error is I think -1.5, but typically 20/40 is a much lower refractive error than that. Bottom line, if your FINDOCS have you at less than 20/40...

Depends on what the waiver is for. Mine was a sure thing the doc told me so it was a couple weeks. For MJ use, it's a short wait time. For waiverable stuff in your childhood, not a problem. For PRK, I've heard it's a bit longer. Really depends. What's the waiver for?
