I find it funny that even in a place where we all have so many common interests, we manage to not get along. How the hell is their gonna be peace between Israel and Palestine if their isn't even peace between helos and jets?!?
I you two should bury whatever disagrement and realise we are the same guys with the same interests on the same team.
I concur wholeheartedly that we'd have no trouble spending a night getting housed and talking about alot of nothing as though it were the most important conversation we'd ever had. Understand however that this is certainly not "between helos and jets." Also note that tone of voice and inflection are impossible to convey in writing without alot of creativity and effort. With that in mind and my ego aside, I may have been better off addressing splendid privately, but I decided a public attack deserved a public rebuttal. I'll refrain from such indulgences in the future except in the most tempting cases. I have to admit he was a pretty easy target. I don't mean to discount your question but even if this were "between helos and jets," a little inter-community rivalry, just like inter-service rivalry, would only be healthy for our competitive spirit. Everyone knows Marines hate the Air Force, but that doesn't mean we wouldn't fight beside them. It's just natural to get some bickering among so many type A folks. Please don't ever take it as Jets vs. Helos or Marines vs. Navy or anything whether I'm involved or not. It's fear of such misunderstanding that motivates me to keep alot of stuff off the public forum. In this case however, privacy wasn't really needed.
I guess an easier way to respond to your post is just to say that we're far from arguing, and until someone crosses the line and starts making threats or talking nonsense there's no real reason to take it off the boards, IMO. I trust you guys to assume it's personal and bares no reflection on the opinions of each involved party's community or service. Deep down we love each other, don't worry. But in writing, people are people, and if you're not new to message boards then you know things get heated from time to time. It's rarely a real problem.
