Since we're about three months out, I thought I'd start this board. Checking in for this. Packets are due April 6th.

It's still a ways away, but I guess I'll go ahead and check in for this board. I'm also in for the 19 Feb 18 SUPPO board (no results as of this post), and was in for the Dec 17 IWC board (not picked up).

Age: 22
OAR: 71
GPA: 3.76
B.S.B.A. in Management Studies & Information Systems, Focus: Information Assurance (Graduate in May)
Two LORs, one each from a O-5 and a O-6 I worked with personally for a couple years.

Obviously, no meaningful work experience, and no prior service. Civil Air Patrol for almost a decade, where I got my Spaatz award; we'll see if the board puts any weight on that.

Great OAR score!! Fingers crossed for us.

Not for Active Duty.

"Non-prior-service applicants must be commissioned before their 29th birthday with a minimum GPA of 2.8, and minimum OAR of 45. Previous active duty enlisted personnel, who possess particularly exceptional qualifications documented on their most recent competitive Eval/FITREP (Must promote or early promote and above reporting senior’s cumulative average), must be commissioned prior to their 35th birthday with a minimum GPA of 2.0, and minimum OAR of 40. No exceptions will be considered."

That doesn’t protect you from IP and SWO-IP. Both of those require 2.8 min GPA.

Even with the active duty exception, you have a very steep battle getting selected with the low GPA.

surprised how low it has been lowered to, however before they lowered it I never saw anyone picked up with the minimum, I would look at making PO1 and then apply for LDO

Understood. This thread was for the SWO Board.

Regarding IWC's Board. I got a waiver last time. I will be submitting another one for the following board.

Thank you for your suggestion. For your information, LDO's minimum is 8 years in. I have been in for 2.5ish and with the points I have towards this next exam, my CO's approval for a Time in Rate reduction, I will be a 3 year first class before I left my first command. I do not plan on waiting 5 more years to apply to be an officer. I am too old for any other programs. I will apply to every board I am eligible for until I make it.

I have seen it twice with sub 2.10 GPAs get picked up being active duty.

Yes... for LDO/CWO and enlisted advancement where GPA doesn’t matter.

Fortunately, they were OCS which is why I was referencing them. Again though, I appreciate the effort to dissuade and prevent me experiencing any disappointment.
