I've been responsible for hiring the three S-3 drivers in our community. All three have been top shelf for us. No gripes.

Update: I spoke with the MFWIC for this change, at HQ FAA, and he said it will become a reality on 10 Sept 08. He also said that former (read: non-current military IP's) will also be allowed to get their CFI through this change.
