Personally I didn't think it was as good as Ken Bell's "100 Missions North"; I was really surprised how much detail must have been remembered/written down by the author. Makes you really feel like you are there.

Is Morse code taught at any stage during flight training? One reason I wonder, is because of (then) Cmdr. Jeremiah Denton; as a North Vietnamese POW he blinked "TORTURE" in Morse code, during a 1965 TV interview. And there's also that Morse code F-14 scene in Executive Decision... :o

Hate, hate, hate. It's a tough job playing the Devil's Advocate. :) I'm just pointing out that uniformed CO's have done some amazing things for their country - whether you like it or not. I have no problems with them joining the military as long as they fully perform whatever duty they signed...

Avionics Upgrade

From what's been posted on here in the past it's possible to switch at TBS, but it is VERY competitive (i.e. only a handful of contracts are available per company). If you're really dead-set on Air, I'd wait for 203.

I would think it's easier to find it on the ground that way...if it crashes.

Off-topic, but along the same lines as the pic above...

It was possible as recently as a year ago, but now with the economy being what it is, don't count on it. That said, even if that wasn't the case, aiming to perform only at the bare minimum level is just setting yourself up for failure.

Flight Physicals are just a painless version of MEPS. There's a lot of waiting, but the docs are good people and the tests are quick. The only times you have to do anything crazy-elaborate is if you're having difficulties with the basic stuff, e.g. popping your ears, maintaining balance, etc. or...
