Hmmmm.........I am a religious man......ask a god damn question .....
I am a religious man.....
All I did was ask a god damn question .....
I never said anything about not being willing to go into combat. I have no issue with being shot at it to save someone else. I am a religious man and dying to save somebody else is just about the best thing I could ask for.
Don't berate me for at least trying to help this country in whatever way I can while there's people that have been giving a hell of a lot more than I have and have never once even thought about giving back. All I did was ask a god damn question and all I wanted was some answers, not for someone to bite my head off.
Just to remind you chest-beating knuckle draggers that a guy named Alvin York was a con. objector--you might have heard of him.
My question is this, if I get PRK and go Navy, what are the chances I get a position like SAR or ambulance? What happens if i get put into a mission that requires killing?
I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
If you're such a conscientious objector, then take a friggin stand and stay out of the military.
The military is no place for a conscientous objector to be.
So what is your point? If you're a CO go ahead and sign up? Seriously, is that the point of your post? FWIW is right. It's worth exactly nothing and only serves to muddy the waters here. I couldn't care less who was a CO and who wasn't and who earned what awards in whatever status; I only know that signing up and taking the oath as a CO is not right and disingenuous, period. Bottom line--If you're a CO, do not join the military. It's as simple as that.
