BDCP is a strange beast since you're technically serving active duty. A scholarship has the ultimate option of being recooped if you fail to hold up your end of the bargain. It is illegal for the Navy to recover money paid as basic pay...so their contract has you enlisting if you never make it...

I'm pretty sure that if you get accepted directly into METOC (without a warfare qual), that they'll send you straight to a ship for a normal SWO JO tour. I know that you arrange this through a METOC detailer. It's my understanding that you need to "apply" with some paper to exercise your METOC...

hey...I went in originally as an NFO and then switched to NUPOC ... but it depends what the Navy needs. I doubt you could go from supply to pilot or NFO...but I think you could go to nuc...from what I understand the Navy always needs 'em....but Honor_Class may be right...again what the Navy needs...
