That's good, makes sense for where you are right now. I'd love to be at that point for OCS to maintain a pace like that but for me I don't think I can get there before I leave, which sucks.
Biggest thing for me was consistency. After I got a cheap treadmill off Craigslist, I didn’t have an excuse for it’s too cold or it’s late after work. Just force myself to run and I always end up enjoying it. It’s just getting out there...

Yeah I’m about a 7 30 pace right now for 3.5 miles. I’ve been running with a weighted vest as well. I started with 10 pounds now I’m up to 20. Seems to help out but only slightly.

That’s awesome I have a weighted vest that goes up to 40 pounds, but the thing I hate is just how much it cuts into you and bounces around now matter how tight the straps are...

Well I quit running like 2 years before I left the military lol
Ha yeah. If I want to be technical with having prior stress fractures, I was in the same boat but still ran because I grew to like it. Once the service commitment was done I thought I'd never run another day in my life haha. Now I'm back at it but it's a much better experience going through the running and strengthening process on my own rather than being told to run exorbitant amounts of mileage per week just because.

My vest goes up to 40 pounds too, but I refrain from putting that much weight on my while I run. I’m going to try and get up to 25 pounds and consistently use that weight while I jog. Supposedly weighted vest are very beneficial while you run, but the question is.. does it make you faster... I improved slightly. Also helps a lot with push ups and inclined sit-ups

This is what I was afraid lol. I just don’t wanna be the slowest! My fastest mile time is 5:44 lol, I have only ran a half marathon and it was at a 7:30 pace....
you should be fine, a half marathon at 7:30 pace is phenomenal compared to the vast amount of the population who are active themselves. I was just on a big build up for working for the sub 4 mile a couple weeks ago.
