Impressive accomplishments. While you were in Korea, were you stationed at the DMZ? My brother was stationed there years ago and always had stories about how they'd always have stare-downs with the North Korean soldiers on the border. I've always wanted to go there (not on duty though hah). The history of North Korea and the Kim cult/dynasty has always fascinated me because it's somehow lasted this long.

I applied for it but not sure if my waiver will get approved at all or on time for the NOV board. Submitted my package last week with an OAR waiver for being 2 points short.
What was the process for submtting the waiver for the OAR? Im also in the same situation applying for

as active duty I had to submit a reason of why I’m requesting the waiver for my CO’s signature. Once he signed we sent it to Mr. Paul and now it’s a wait time. At board list is out and my name is not on it so I guess it didn’t get approved yet.

Where did you find the board list?

For anyone who got CAC and wants to check if their name made the board:

CAC required

  • Go to NPC
  • Left side under NPC Links click Intranet Sites
  • Find and click “Navy recruiting command Intranet” and click it (Not the MyNavy HR Bupers Intranet)
  • on the left side find “NRC Navigation” and click “Officer Programs”
  • on the left side find “Production” and click “Board Schedule and at board lists”
  • as of right now all top Excel documents are for IWC.

Since the at board list is available, would someone be able to post the list for the civilians who applied? ??

Stupid question but are we aloud to post that on a public forum? Does anyone know if that might break PII or OPSEC protocol? I'd be happy to post it but I don't want to potentially get counseled or anything.

In the meantime PM me your name and I'll check for you (that goes for any of the other civilians on this thread that would like to know). I'm currently with family for the holidays and I'll be out and about, but I will be checking my laptop sporadically throughout the day and the rest of weekend.

I am AD and submitted an OAR Waiver. I had to draft a Waiver request, submit to my Chain of Command, and receive my COs endorsement for my request.

I submitted my formal request letter and my COs endorsement letter with my complete application. NRC responded with receipt of my request and then I received an email and correspondence a few weeks ago informing me my request had been approved.

Its honestly a little confusing because the process isn’t clearly outlined anywhere online. I had to seek help from multiple people to eventually reach a path I felt comfortable with.

I unfortunately was never stationed in Korea and only went there for exercises and for leisure. I was able to visit the DMZ but access to the Joint Security Area was restricted because President Trump was visiting for the peace talk at that time. It would have been a good experience!

They posted the “at board” list in the November 9 Swo board and it didn’t seem like an issue, only has names and NRD number on it. It’s extremely useful for those who end up not being on there to ask their recruiters if everything is good.
