Hey everyone, Just got the call from my OR that I will be up for the July boards...

Just curious, is it normal for OR's to inform their applicants that they are being seen by the board they applied for? (June, July, Aug, etc.)

From what I have seen in threads from previous months, some people have been able to confirm that they made the current month's board by around the 10th or 11th of that month (so only a few days before the board actually meets). I don't know that the OR will go out of his/her way to get you this information though if you don't call and ask for it.

I have also seen many cases where people have been "confirmed" for the board only to find out weeks later they did not get reviewed. I will definetly giving my OR a call around the 11th to see what he says, but nothing is certain til the decision comes out.

For me, I put in my package for the may boards, but it wasn't until the end of the month did I find out that i didn't make that months board.

My recruiter called me on the 11th of last month and was able to confirm that I was going to be seen in the June boards. The dates were different last month than normal but there is definitely an "At Board" list.

If you applied for Intel, they will begin conducting your background check almost immediately. I have been going through this myself.

Looks like I will have to watch this one from the sidelines. Just got word from my recruiter that there were problems with my SF-86. Apparently, in between when I filled it out and when it was submitted, they altered the form. I had to go back and fill in a few more bubbles attesting to the fact that I am not a terrorist and resubmit. Now I get to wait til August!

Anyway, good luck to everyone up for the July boards - Hope you all get good news in a couple weeks.

btw- I just got an email today from my recuriter verifying that I made the "at board" list for the July boards. So I guess this list is out already.

Do you know if you have to have at least 2 yrs left in order to qualify for the BDCP program?

No, I believe you can apply BDCP as long as you have school left. (Maybe 6 months of school left) But you definitely can apply within 2 years of graduation. In fact, if you do not have a technical degree, it must be within 2 years of graduation.

This is the week....

So we've made it to mid-july, for the most part, with the board (hopefully) meeting on July 15th.

Good luck to everyone and here's to all of us seeing each other in OCS very soon! :icon_zbee
