I got my package in on the 8th, and was hoping that it got there in time for January boards, but alas it looks like I'm going to have to wait till February...Does anyone know the date for February, and is it only once a month or twice a month?? I've been told both.

On the NONSELECT list for this months pro rec for SNA and NFO. The gouge located under the "rumor has it" link on page 2 is bad. There were well over a hundred packets for the Jan. Board and it was also the smallest selection number since the new fiscal year.

On the bright side... I have some time to make my packet stronger.

Does anyone know the extact time you have to wait to resubmit? I am getting conflicting answers from past posts and my processor.

Also, does anyone have any good suggestions to offer in regards to interviews and LOR? I didn't do an interview for this submission and only had 3 basic LOR as recommended by my recruiter.

I have already taken the ASTB twice. I did raise my score the second time and am not positive that retaking the test will yield a third increase.

My Score is: 6, 6, 6, 51
Also have a 3.05 GPA in Poli Sci. from CSULB
Excellent low push ups, Good med. situp, and Good med. run: PRT

/\ which /\ is why I am trying to add in interviews and more LOR to my packet.

Any advice would be appreciated.

They usually meet once a month around the 15th, I think.

You got the devil's ASTB score, Thunder! I remember reading on AW somewhere, and my processor told me this too, that to reapply is 6 mos later, unless you make a major change to it. (LOR's don't count) IIRC this is a new rule. Since you have the time, might as well try to upgrade something and hurry that up, eh?

That's a bummer that you have to wait, but the huge numbers probably explains why I got shot down for SNA too. You have any specific numbers on Jan. apps vs. number selected?

I was told my ASTB score is competitive so I really dont want to mess with that an risk a lower score.

However, I can improve my PRT score. Try and knock two minutes off my run time and add 20 push ups/sit ups to my PRT. I can also obtain an interview. I hear both of these things will constitute a signficant change. Im sure a few more LORs wont hurt to add either. Hopefully successful completion of these tasks will show the board members that I am serious about my commitment. I really don't want to wait six months to roll over into a large group of apps from the Jan. board again.

Specific numbers were left out for obvious reasons, but the hint was between 120 - 150 apps with less than 12 selected. With those numbers i'm sure the ASTB ranking played a rather large roll into who was looked at.

Thunder, things happen for a reason so you have to stay positive. Buckle down and make EVERY aspect of your package as strong as possible. Put it in again, and PRAY. It works. Trust me. I'll be rootin (prayin) for you. See you on the other side. ;) Good Luck!

Here is the deal not rumor do the math on your own. number below. LOR and PRT is not significant change. Test score and GPA or graduation are about all that are considered significant. but CNRC changes form time to time depending on who the Program manger or the Processor is. ALso the needs of the Navy. so apply with what changes you can get if your recruiter will let you. I preached interviews get some if at all possible from O-4 or above. I wish you much luck in the future and keep at it.

SNA Select
Sna Final Select Jan Boards

It has EVERYTHING to do with the "whole" person concept. ASTB has a major impact on things but everything is tallied up in the end. I though I would never make it with such a low OAR.

Pro rec'd for SNA,NFO,SWO... chose SNA and should get orders in 2 weeks, the processor said I should class up in April
