you mind sharing what you believe you might need a waiver for? or is it personal? i just like getting perspective

Haha it’s all good. I had a pilonidal cyst removal about 4.5 years ago on the tailbone. Everything went fine (for me at least, my twin sister who had it the same time as me has had multiple surgeries for it). It does have an abscess opening but no fluid or infected drainage. I went to a specialist at USC to see what he thought and he said I should be good because the scar is completely healed. Doesn’t cause pain, and no bleeding. But it’s always up to the Navy.

I had the same thing, cyst on my tailbone. Had it removed about 2 years prior to when I went to MEPS. Didn’t need a waiver or anything, the doctor there at MEPS just had to look at it and make sure it was completely healed. You should be just fine.

Yeah in SoCal - Keck Medical. They are one of the best medical facilities over here and my dad was able to get me an appointment with one of the experts.

Very cool, I'm finishing up at SC this semster. Currently live in the downtown area and work out by the beach.

Hoping to apply for the next board and also had a pilonidial cyst removed (April 19). Recruiter said as long as its 6 months post OP and no recurring symptoms a waiver shouldn't be required...fingers crossed.
