Best ive heard of in while...
Setting: Primary ready room
(paraphrased)
Student A: How'd you get binding controls on your solo?
Student B: Aft parachute fell down and blocked the stick.
Student C: How'd that happen???
Student B: I didnt put the straps through the metal loops.
Student D: Why not?
Student B: I didnt know I had to.
Student A: Didn't you use the checklist?
Student B: Yes, but it doesn't say to do it.
Student D: (Pulling out the blue brains...) Uuuh, yes it does... look at the picture...
Student B: Oh... I didnt use the picture
(Many confused glances among students)
Student E: Did you execute binding controls procedure?
Student B: No
Student F: Did you slow down in the landing configuration, no slower then 80knots, and do controllability checks?
Student B: No
Student E: Did you request a wide, straight in approach?
Student B: No
Student G: What did you do?
Student B: I flew the break...
Many Students: WHAT???
Student B: (motioning as if forcing the stick with two hands) I just had to push the stick a lot harder to get it to move left... The controls weren't THAT binding.
Many eyebrows raised and wtfs around the room.
Student A: Yeah, you definately shouldnt have gone around telling anyone about that...
Another student turning to a buddy: Geez, and I thought I've done some stupid **** on my solos...
