I think the appropriate title should give the nod to its origins as well as the locale where it is set up...as South Texas is steeped in Hispanic Heritage, I would suggest (drum roll please)

I'd like to toss in my hat and suggest that it just be referred to as "The Cat"...

No need to refer to its predecessor. I assume if you find yourself in a position to ride it, you should be responsibly knowledgeable enough to at least know the history of the orignial and the location it was associated with.
And if the guy next to you doesn't know its history, well you now have a great story from Naval Aviation history to share with them.

and that is my $.02...

Perhaps just "The Dunker"...since they did away with the Dilbert Dunker.

Leave it 'til opening night. If the party is good enough, the name will present itself accordingly and a great new tradition will have begun.

I keep on trying to tell them "I'm just an Engineer/Welder/Mechanic" and I don't do names. They keep on wanting a name. Regardless of what it's real name will be "Cubi Cat" Seems to be its common name, much like how the "consolidated club bar" is known as the "O-Club"

Sorry MB, the only bit of Filipino money I have is this ragged 2 P note (must have done a good job in the hookers and beer department before getting underway for the final time ;)).

If you are looking for any other WestPac money, I have a couple/few extra Singapore and Australian coins.

Forms are built, and the pour is on for Saturday as long as the Wx holds out.

I got the holdback in my hands. Here is the basic plan for getting the project done:

Weekend of 27 Sep
Pour Concrete

Week of 29 Sep
Finish Catapult
Install Winch
Install Holdback
Build waterscoop

Weekend of 4 October
Move main track section to O-Club and prime/paint it

Week of 6 October
Build pool track section
Build access ladder
Do "landscaping" around pool
Move Catapult section to club, prime/paint

Weekend of 11 October
Install pool track section
Begin functional tests

Barring any huge issues, Mid-October winging is a possibility to have the debut party. Will keep people posted.

I need some help finding tailhooks for the fence around the pool. It has been decided that it would be more appropriate to have a tailhook & chain fence, like is so common at NAS Pensacola around the pool. A4/T2, whatever we can get.

7 or 8 hooks is what we need here. If there is a contact somewhere to get the hooks, I think I have some "horsepower" to throw at the problem once I find where they are.

Pics from the progress yesterday.

Got the hold-back welded up and installed.
Moved the first portion of track over to the Club. Got it sanded put a couple coats of primer on.
Started on the stairs and platform for ingress.
Patched up some spots in the pool.
