Still waiting on NOMI and my school status to change from "not viewed" so I can be assigned to the ROTC unit. At this rate I probably won't be in the first group of orders that get requested. Awesome!!

I remember somebody mentioning that there is a list of NKO courses we are required to do. I've found the website in the past and remember reading through the list but can't find it now. The Officer Training Command website has changed and a few of the buttons still don't work. I believe this is where I found it last time. Anybody know where a list of these courses are and when they are due by.

Don't worry about doing those. Trust me when I say that you will have plenty of time to do them when in RI and liberty is secured for the first few weeks.

If you have done the lessons within the last year then you will not have to do them again. At least those were the rules last year.

Hey there guys Happy New Years EVE! Anyways, the time for our journey begins soon! I will be leaving Houston on the 14th of Feb. Will any one be needing a lift. I have a truck so I should have room. What are the details on the E club. I have to be there on the 20th so keep me posted.

I don't have my orders yet so I'm not sure what the dates are. I plan on driving up to RI from Pax River, MD. You mention Feb 20, is that the report NLT date? I'm trying to plan out the next couple months and it's hard to do that without ecact dates (orders). I have house hunting leave Jan 16-Jan 25 and plan on starting my transfer leave Jan 27. With any luck I will have my orders in the next couple weeks.

On our orders it say report NLT 21Feb09 but NET 20Feb09, so that friday or saturday is the report date and it looks like we will have to do the whole "E" club venture on the 20th because they may not let us out after Saturday night.

If it is like last year then you will be able to go out at night, but will have Cinderella liberty. Just don't stay out too late on Sunday because you will be getting up early on Monday.

For those of us who are bringing our families up to RI we will be eligible for family housing correct? I remember the OTC website saying that family housing is for 6 and 9 month BOOST students, but didn't they transition to only 3 month BOOST classes? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You will be eligible only if you are PCSing to RI. Look at your orders closely. If you are just TAD then it will not be provided and you shouldn't bring your family.

I just spoke to a lady named Jamie at the Newport base housing office and she said that there is housing set aside for the BOOST students, even though we are only there for 5 months. Her number is 401-841-2232 fax 401-841-7138. She is going to want you to fax her a copy of your orders, page 2, and DD1746 (housing request) before they can put your name in for a house.

Has anyone been able to contact LT Henderson, or Maj. Cassoon the BOOST program coordinators? I've left a couple of messages regarding the NKO courses and haven't had any responses. I know it was mentioned not to worry about them, but I would still like to try to get them knocked out before I head that direction in FEB.

I plan on showing up mid-afternoon Fri the 20th. It's an 8 hour drive from my current duty station to Newport and the Navy is giving me 2 days of travel so I plan on using those 2 days. Ha!! Probably do 6 hours the first day with an easy 2 the morning of the 20th. See ya there!

I don't want to keep bringing up the BAH questions but something doesn't seem right. I understand I will be on PCS orders to Newport so I will keep my BAH. My wife is not coming with me nor is she staying at my current duty station. Shouldn't I get BAH where my dependents will be living during my 6 months? PSD is telling me I will get Newport BAH ($1672.00) which is much more than Kansas ($999.00). I just don't want any problems to come up later down the road and have to pay back any money that will probably be spent already. Any ideas?

I'm flying up on the 18th to make some time to get settled and familiar with the area. My orders also say NLT 20 Feb, but don't have a NET date.

We will be receiving Newport BAH, which is a significant pay raise for me. My wife will be staying at my current duty station while I'm at BOOST.

I encountered the same scenario when I arrived at Mayport from "A" school. We were receiving Austin bah my entire tour through Boot Camp and "A" school. As soon as I checked into my first command, they immediately changed my bah to Mayport (PCS orders) even though my wife was still in Austin.
