OCS 11AUG25 IWC BOARD // Nerd Thunderdome 2025

Yeah for me personally, I just became eligible to apply for OCS due to my naturalization taking some time and since I've hit my mid-30 my options are limited and the longer delay definitely ain't helping.
My biggest concern is being born and raised in a foreign country(although a very strong US ally with a huge US troop presence), the IWC community might just pull out my package and give me a DNR. I've read some horror stories about candidates who got a pro-rec Y did not get a finsel due to one of their parents being foreign born or whatever security risk the Navy is not willing to tolerate.
My OR said I should be good and he knew my personal background, but we'll see. Sometimes I ask myself if I'm trying to pursue somthing that I wasn't meant to even bother, but hey who cares. I only care that I gave my best shot.
Marine Corps and Army told me to fuck-off for having a bad eyesight even if I was killing the physical fitness exams. But at least the Navy is giving me a chance.
This did bring a question to my mind. Should one not get a finsel, or even a pro-rec Y, does anyone know how transparent is the Navy regarding the reason why and feedback about candidates?

Based on what the well-known experts say on this forum, not really.
The only "comfort" one may find in case of getting a pro-rec N would be not having a DNR tag next to it, as a DNR would mean a professional f***-off you're done for good in our community.

9.5 weeks...almost at that 10 week range. If it doesn't come today we officially are the longest IWC board in the past 5 years.

Things I've confirmed: results usually comes on Thursdays, but occasionally Fridays.

Everyone other IWC board went nuts during the wait too

I noticed The Thursday/Friday trend for our results so I’m hoping that since Monday was a holiday for the military we hear something tomorrow? Either way it is what it is just hoping to know before my husband gets underway again.

I’m 90% sure my recruiter won’t even recognize me when she sees me again as I have lost nearly 20lbs & 6% body fat while putting on 5% lean mass/muscle since the last time she saw me in July. 😅 heck my husband got back from deployment and didn’t recognize me at first.

Dawg I am like 125 lbs soaking wet if you need to transfer any weight send it my way, thank you. 😅

Okay random ass thought - not sure how much of our SF86 and background/clearance processes are done before results are released but that process I can 100% see being impacted by the shutdown.

Sorry brain is trying to find logic which I know is not a good thing to try and do. But 14 years of federal work hasn’t broken me of this habit yet

I know of one case where a pro-rec y didn't translate to a finsel because the applicant left foreign contacts living in hostile nations off their SF86. This was discovered during the investigation phase, and either the investigator or the recruiter notified them they weren't going to OCS for this reason.
