SchoolBubba put it much more eloquently than I could.
Beaches - Party time. Weekends are awesome and this will be where all your buddies will be going. Its about a 30 min drive to work.
Avondale / Riverside - A little quieter, neighborhood bar/restaurant scene, a little hipsterish but its not...
Lots of people live in the Town Center area... Lots of 'luxury' apartments over there. Town Center is about as central as it gets in Jax.
Riverside/Avondale is also pretty popular. Orange Park, Mandarin, pretty much everywhere apart from Riverside/Avondale/Ortega is suburban hell. Town...
No pickle you're not wrong... you're just an asshole!
As to the atrophy of ASW skills ... that's going to happen when you don't have someone like the USSR to chase after. PRC is no 1980s Soviet Union. So while ASW is still supposed to be our bread and butter, we do it a whole lot less than...
Did not know that.
Either way the P-8 OFT is 10x better than the level D P-3 OFT. The terrain looks like it came off Google Earth, and it flies considerably more like an airplane.
A Time = signed for the airplane time. Which works very much in your favor in a 3 piloted platform, because even when your in the rack your racking up A Time.
I remember testing this when I was in A Pool. If its the same test they were testing, it's not a video game as much as it is a motor skills test with a joystick on a computer.
I for one am happy we will be able to walk around in the bag without a SWO or CPO or anyone else for that matter, being able to say shit about it.
That said, I would still trade loosened regs for squadron colored T-Shirts, and loosened regs on patches.
The VP community (or at least the Jax...
If it were only so simple. There is no money to be made in refining. The margins razor thin. There is no incentive for the industry to invest in refining capacity. There is a reason we don't build refineries in the country... just as we don't build nuke power plants... its FUCKING expensive...
I found a job where I didnt mind burning any bridges. I worked at Best Buy, which wasnt horrible, and then told them after about 6 weeks that I got called from the IRR. Which IIRC NROTC Mids are technically IRR. I never went back to that job, but had already made a little cash.
The first class chairs are supposed to nearly fully recline.
Two problems I see:
How much effort are we going to put into fixing those seats when they start to break?
Who gets the second seat? I know TACCOs that are already trying to lay claim to the unused seat. The company line among...
Yeah, but it's kind of cool to shut two of your engines off (intentionally) knowing full well you'll be flying 12 hours later.
Well, in retrospect it's boring. It makes you wish you lived the 30 min onsta time of a helo pilot at the time.
Neighbor chick I think might have a boyfriend... All the cute nurses were already snatched up by helo AW types... of the 5 nurses I had 3 were cute and all 3 of those had helo boyfriends....
I knew I should have been a helo dude.
And lets not forget the news gets it wrong A LOT. Even the details that are 'known'. When the story was published about me, it said I walked into my garage to investigate a noise. Thats not at all what happened. I went to turn out a light that I thought I had left on. The comments on the...
Well what you read on the news isn't what happened. I didnt walk into the garage unarmed 'investigating' anything. I thought I left a light on. Rest assured if I had any idea someone was in there I wouldn't have put my pistol away and I would have brought my 80lb German Shepherd along with me.
I read a book some time back called Rethinking the Principles of War. Basically its a collection of essays by experts on the subject of warfare and statecraft.
One of the first essays really made an impression on me, I think it was called 'An American Way of War?' The author examines about a...
I would argue Mobility. The carriers dont only protect one area, they have the potential to be almost anywhere. Besides I dont think Fog is saying we get rid of those forces, we just get them out of Europe.
Yeah Still do. I mean I may have been almost murdered, but statistically its a very safe neighborhood, and its very friendly. I would say in the aftermath of my experience I am even more of a fan of the area because of how supportive all of my neighbors have been.
To be honest, 94 posts or there abouts, I'm surprised my name even comes up at all anymore. In true aw fashion we should probably continue to drive down the chasing women, farting, pooping, etc road. Dont want to break tradition after all.
Thanks for all the well wishes dudes and dudeettes. Without getting too sappy, it makes me so grateful that I'm a member of the gold winged fraternity of awesomeness... When people you have never met are wanting to send you cookies and help out.
MB I'm partial to standard chocolate chip, but...
Honestly no locking of this thread... Im still laid up in the hospital and away from my ward room. My virtual ward room keeps me going when my actual ward room isn't with me in the hospital.
It was not a drug deal gone bad, this dude was in my garage after I took my dog for a walk,I think trying to steal my bike. I saw the light on in the garage and thought I had just left it on when I was out there last night. So I brought the dog in, my 45 USP in the safe and walked out back...
My guess is that even this won't be enough to fire the GS who caused this cluster... In fact the office responsible is most likely jam packed full of people who are all scrambling to explain why this wasn't their fault and why making sure this stuff doesn't happen isn't their job.
Listen up dudes and dudettes...
I'm looking for a couple of hip young gunslingers to share this super awesome house in Avondale that I just bought. When I say super awesome, I'm not messing around in the least, this place is legit! This 2400 sqft house is smack dab in the middle of Avondale...
Crucify them sure... Im all for it. But serious damage has already been done. Less so here at home I'm sure, but certainly in the areas of the world where Al Jazera has major viewership.
Is there a good way to keep up to date on what slots are available for each designator? I have a good buddy who has been looking at NFO but has been told its going to be closed all year.
