your grade from your practice FAA exam during IFS is included in your ATJ... also your start and completion date in included. IFS is a screening program. If you don't meet any of the requirements.. i.e. soloing in 15 hours then you will be considered for attrition or redesignation.

the way i heard it at a safety standdown from our CO was that they would weed out people who did poorly on FAMS from doing forms. Basically people who had no chance of getting jets. he mentioned nothing about "selection" for jets immediately after FAMS.

API grades count 15% towards primary... so don't slack off. I believe some courses count more than others... i.e. Aero 2 and Navigation. T-6 spots are given at random.

i'm SNA in primary and i'm only DQ from E2/C2.. just had an IP who is a couple inches shorter than me and he flew E6's. If you're only an inch off I would have a flight surgeon re-measure you...

i think primary is different than getting your PPL... there are dozens of emergency procedures you have to know verbatim, and the T-34 is more involved than a cessna. You'll be expected to be much more knowledgeable about the systems too... like what instruments you'll lose if you have a #2...

you have to do IFS in the p-cola area... so either Eglin AFB, Destin, or Pensacola Aviation Club at Pensacola Regional. You don't get flight pay at IFS. And don't worry about IFS until after you arrive at API... otherwise "don't call us, we'll call you" ;-)
