IMPORTANT INFO FOR ALL GOING TO OCS!!!

When I put my package in my vision was 20/27 and I was accepted for SNA. I believe the requirement is 20/40 uncorrected, and 20/20 correctable. i'm a little worried about the visual acuity test myself. If anyone could shed some light on the procedure and equipment that would be great.

    Don't get disenrolled from NROTC!

I went to an engineering school... B's are hard to come by. But the Navy doesn't care about what your major is or what school you attend... whether you're at MIT or Podunk U. the requirement is the same... interestingly enough I heard MIT uses a 5.0 scale.

    Depth perception mega thread

just got my eyes tested by an opthmologist. 20/30! Anyways, he said that using the computer a lot can cause myopia and astigmatism. He said closing my eyes and doing clock exercises and rolling them around can help alleviate it. Also, doing quick near and far glances can help visual acuity...

    Depth perception mega thread

I enter OCS on Feb 8th (pilot). I'm a little concerned about my vision. I think it's right around 20/40. Is there anything I can do- other than surgery- to improve my vision? If you do not pass the test can you go to an optometrist to get it retested?
