I think I must have just looked before anyone ran a search. I checked back and saw the 2 most recent searches. I guess as people search more the number will get up to the most recent 15?
WOW, ANG sounds pretty cool. But it's part-time, right? Do you still get the same benefits like BAH, medical insurance, and retirement? Tell me more...
I don't know how things work in the Marines, but in the Navy everyone on the site says not to do that unless you want to be a NFO. I don't have any firsthand knowledge, so maybe your OSO is right.
I'm in my last semester down here - can't wait to get out. I know there's several other Ags running around the forum, a lot more than there used to be.
What the heck is this "other opportunity" you speak of?
I think that you can get form 2 on your first try. I can't remember which form I got, but I know that there was a question about a monkey on a rope that ran through a pulley. The rope had a weight at the opposite end of the monkey. The question was what would happen to the weight if the...
Look under the "User CP" (cp is for control panel.) You can change your name from registered user, and I believe you can also indicate your own time zone.
Quite true. I misspoke and I apologize. What I meant was that if someone isn't motivated enough to put up a good effort for their application then maybe a career in the military isn't their best choice. My experience in school started out with no direction - I had no idea what I wanted to do...
I'm not trying to bust you here, but if you're having motivational problems then Naval Aviation may not be the best career choice for you. Sure, school is hard and people get burned out. I realize that. But you've got some time to figure out what you want in life. Once you know what you want...
There's several people on this site who have had PRK and can answer this question better than I can. The way I understand the process is that you have to get a waiver before you apply. To get the waiver, you must wait either 3 or 6 months (depends on how bad your eyes were before) after the...
Richard--
Unless I have been severly misinformed, you will not be able to get spot as SNA until after you get your eyes worked on. As posted earlier, PRK is the ONLY option you should consider. What your recruiter told you about applying now just to see if you get a spot is totally untrue...
Thanks. I know that Roth is definitely the way to go. I seriously doubt that I'll have enough spare time to track the market myself... so it's either a managed mutual fund or an index. I'm glad to hear that USAA has served all of you well.
Rainman - be careful on that bike. I used to...
I think that the two forms are similiar in content so you should get the same score either way. I don't remember which form I took, but I think it's just whatever your recruiter feels like giving you that day.
Vette - yes you can be pro-rec'd and not "selected." It is a rare thing but it can and does happen. There's some people on this site who have seen it first hand.
Sorry to dig up an old post here, but does anyone in BDCP still get a clothing allowance? I've been in since last July. My paychecks were all screwed up and I didn't get any money for several months. Unless a clothing allowance was lumped together in my first 2 (way bigger) checks, I have not...
Chat is gone? Site looks pretty different today. I like the homepage better now since it shows "latest threads" along with other info that is updated since my last visit. In general I prefer the new (as of 3/31/04 at 11am central) homepage setup. Just my vote.
Edit--- chat is not gone...
For me it was after the pro-rec. The other things that were after included a MEPS physical and the EPSQ background check. Everything else was up front.

Scroll down to the post with the ASTB Gouge. It's a practice test that has some questions that would probably help you out. At least I think it does, it's been a while.
BDCP is great. You get a guaranteed designator before you sign the contract. You also get a paycheck. The only drawback is that once you swear in you are committed to serve a 4yr active/4year reserve contract. (Said contract is superceded when you get comissioned.) The benefit of going into...
Yes I believe that BDCP requires only a MEPS physical. I think that the flight physical is within the first few days of OCS, but maybe it's API - I don't know for sure. I've had a couple of major medical issues pop up since I got into BDCP and will likely have to pass another physical. I'm...
Yes, they will probably look at all of that as long as you include the info in your application. They call it a "whole person concept." You should be fine.
I am pretty sure your recruiter is wrong. If you don't meet the 20/40 requirement you are NOT eligible for a SNA designator. If your eyes are within standards and you want PRK anyway that is an entirely different circumstance. Which are you?
here's some info

Scroll down a ways until you see my post that has an attachment. Click it and read over it. Look at sheet one to get your number codes then look at sheet two to see where you fall...
Does anyone have experience with USAA's investment programs? I'd like to put some money away in the next couple of months, maybe start an IRA. I bank with USAA and know they offer several levels of investment planning, but the help comes with a hefty pricetag. Advice/comments? What about...
Yes, I have a PPL. I got it last summer and haven't flown very often since September. Hopefully I can get lined up to start some instrument work soon. I fly with the A&M Flying Club out of Easterwood CLL. Splitting time is a GREAT idea... I had thought of it before but didn't have anyone to...
Is this based on the new syllabus? Or does the syllabus really even matter? I'll be doing some instrument work regardless so that I can keep learning new things. I just wanted a little clarification. THANKS.
Grew up in Waco and hunted in San Saba County. If you're not familiar, it's about halfway between Waco and San Angelo. Probably also about halfway between Abilene and Austin, but I'd have to check a map to be sure. I shot a MONSTER boar two years ago... my arrow didn't pass through and I...
Yes, LT B is great. I think when I got my acceptance letter it said my designator was 13957. If you remind me in about a week I'll check on it when I get back to town. BEN
I'd guess around 300 live weight - kinda hard to tell from the pic. He's got some tusks, that's for sure. We've got some monsters where I used to hunt - not the kind of animal a bowhunter wants to have a confrontation with unless I'm still in the tree...
All applications go to CNRC in Millington, TN. There is one board per community (NA, NFO, Intel, ect.). Each recruiting district has goals or quotas that they are supposed to fill, but all applications from the USA go to Millington. Any more questions? Just ask.
I think you're supposed to get 2 min rest between pu/su and then a 5 min rest before the run. I'll see if I can find that officially documented somewhere.
Thanks for all the great replies so far - I doubt I'll have time to check everything out. A buddy of mine said to check out Rubio's Baja Grill - yall heard of it, and is it good?
Bought a motorcycle. It was bad a** until a girl pulled out in front of me. There is no way a 600lb motorcycle can win a contest with a 3000lb car. Lots of pain, little blood. Not a good situation. Hopefully my temporary NPQ will be remedied soon...
Anyway, needless to say I now only...
If you can take the ASTB before that I would highly recommend it. The word is that they're changing to the new test sometime around the first of April. Check with your recruiter. Taking it now would mean that the practice test on the site would still be a big boost to your score. If you take...
