How bad do you not want to deploy?

I've known folks to go the psych route, the pregnancy route, but this one is new to me! http://houston.cbslocal.com/2012/09/14/police-wife-stages-shooting-to-avoid-deployment/ Anyone else ever consider this? Imagine what they would have tried if it was a Navy deployment vice Air Force???

    C vs. E/F

The Navy knows exactly how many DH positions they need each year and promote accordingly. What I've been seeing is reductions in the size of staffs (with the exception of C5F which doesn't hit critical mass until they take over the entire island of Bahrain) there is a reduced need for URL O-4's...

And noticeably louder than the P-3! I can't wait when the neighbors realize that the P-8 footprint is getting bigger.... I get enough noise complaints already, now I'm going to get more!!

First flight of the P-8A Poseidon and all things related to transition

NAS Jax has two P-8's on the flight line right now. They are expecting a third shortly. I know there is a P-8 up in Pax that occasionally comes down to Jax to do some training.

    C vs. E/F

To echo what everyone else has said, how well you compare against your peers in your squadron is everything. You can be the #1 of 3 and it's still a #1. (Obviously a #1 of 20 may carry slightly more weight than a #1 of 3, but a #1 of 3 trumps a #3 of 20). Then as Jim123 said, you want the #1...

    Uniforms

IIRC the enlisted personnel were given a stipend to buy the NWU. If the Navy decides to move away from aquaflage, then there will a significant monetary cost to outfit all the enlisted in a new uniform. With the decreases coming in FY-13, I just can't see big Navy cutting that check based on...

So, where do we draw the line as to what is permissible and what is not? It was only a little riot... or No one was killed... or I only blew a .08... Today all the services are forcing folks out who have been pretty good performers; both Officer and Enlisted. If the Army wants to drop this...

    Pensacola aircraft looking to evac?

The reason I'm asking is that we've been getting calls all weekend from everywhere from Key West, JRB NOLA and even some Army helos from upnorth that may deploy to support FEMA. I'm not asking for anyone to come, I just wanted to find out if I needed to make a metric ass-ton of parking available...

A7 midair wreckage found 37 years later

I realize that for every rule there is an exception, but I've seen folks who were the causal factor (pilot error) of a Class A not only get back into the aircraft but recover from the mishap (during DH) tour and screen for command. A7 midair wreckage found 37 years later

Is it possible that an aviator only has one single airmanship mistake which causes a mishap gets a negative comment in his FitRep? I would say it is possible. A7 midair wreckage found 37 years later

I don't know if was from the mishap per se, but the results of a FNAEB would definitely impact your promotability. Results of an SIR would not be available to the board but information that finds its way into a Pg-13 entry or a blurb on the FitRep would be seen by the board.

If the ads are already on TV and the internet, then the obvious political benefit is happening regardless of when the movie actually premieres.
