I don't pretend to understand all the politics that go on with this, but strategically if we drop our numbers won't we drop the lest "effective" nukes, making our average killing power higher? So in effect there are fewer nukes around the world, but only the best of the best nukes survive?

How would that work for the non-hornet folks? I thought I read somewhere that part of the interview for the team was a demo of flight skills - do they just fly what they're trained in or do they have to do the full hornet school and demo in that airframe?

That's your OR's responsibility to do himself. Its nothing official, just some prelim stuff that doesn't carry weight.

And a slightly related question - if you're on BDCP, will they keep paying you after you graduate till your classup? ie I graduate at the end of July, will they pay me till I get up there (say November)? Or does the money stop as soon as you get your degree?

Whats the deal with the Christmas/Holiday stand-down? My OR is of the belief that they won't start a new class after the first few weeks of October so that there aren't any people in class during the holidays. Is this so? Hope not, that'd put me out till January for OCS then.

Sorry, about the running Q I posted - say I ran a 12 min PRT and they put me in the slow group. Will they expect that group to run at a 8 min/mile pace for 3-4 miles or do they slow up the longer the run?

You need 40 seconds of arc circles or better (less than 40 is better). I think it was 6 or 7 of the lines ( not just 6 or 7 of the ten but rather the first 6 or 7... you can't miss a few in the middle and get the first and last ones to give you a good score, according to my ame )

Bumping my Q - kinda worried since it took me about 20 minutes to read the Randot down to 25 arc seconds and that was under the best of circumstances, not OCS.

I had to wait 5 weeks to hear back from them to wait 6 months post op, not 3.

Thats either the Randot or Stereo fly - I took both, and struggled with both, but managed to get to 25 seconds of arc with patience, so I'm sure I can do it again when I have to, given enough time.

Was this USAF? Does the Navy even have any T38s anymore?
