Well on the same note but in a lighter mood, and because I am bored.

Top Ten ways to survive A-Pool

1 Enjoy the beach and the opposite sex
2 Keep summer whites handy for bad days
3 stay away from stash jobs, they are the devil :D
4 getting caught sneaking outside of the liberty area is bad
5 Do not anger those LT's that control your fate
6 Though shall not mix alcohol and swimming
7 Mustering hammered might end badly
8 Avoid stealing golf carts
9 refrain from phone mustering when in prison
10 Steer clear of killing federally protected wildlife

Some of us get pretty sweet stash jobs...although, still a job.

The museum stash was pretty fun back when I was in A-pool. You got to wear a flight suit early, which meant when everyone else was mustered in khakis we got to wear the flight suit, we got to go sit in an F/A-18 simulator and basically enjoy a giant flight simulator for free. In between shooting each other down we gave short tours to junior high or high school kids. Otherwise it was fun and kept us from getting boned with crappy stash jobs. And it made a great excuse, 'oh random PRT today? I'd like to but I have to go work my stash job, later.'

Some jobs are actually nice.

Some of the ENS's in flight management are wearing their AF basic training ribbons. WTF.

I'm working in anthro...the ladies are both nice (LCDR and the civilian). I just input the numbers they tell me to as they measure..then I peace out.

WEAR BROWN SHOES.

And go to the O club regularly. If you joined the Navy to make it a 9-5 job without any concern for keeping the traditions and Naval Aviation culture alive, consider getting out and getting a civilian pilot job.

Next time I see it I'm going to square you away

Do well-adjusted Marines everywhere a favor and don't make an ass of yourself. If somebody's really screwing something up, an NCO will "square you away" while an officer will point out what is wrong without causing a scene. Trying to square away your peers, even if you are right, might end with you being told to get fucked.

Exactly what I meant. Just a matter of verbiage. I endeavour to cause as few scenes as possible; especially in the land of hakuna matata that is all of Pensacola (outside of bldg 633, of course).

I would actually ENCOURAGE everyone to let their hair down, ESPECIALLY the Academy guys....that way your peers won't have to deal with your dumb ass for another 8 years.

How did they make it through OCS wearing that trash?

I don't know, but I think someone in my API class went and corrected the situation. Small offense compared to what the Academy kids have been up to. We get to hear daily complaints from the LTs in charge of checking them all in. :D
