Where did all of my cardio monsters come from!? I can max push-ups and planks with no problem... but I run like yikes! I run like a 10:30-11:00 minute mile and a half on a normal basis. View attachment 28922
Lol I am not a weights freak. All I train is push ups sit ups and planks and cardio. I don’t lift weights. You probably lift a ton, and cardio is a lot harder when you’re lifting for gains.

not saying you should lift, but i definitely would throw some pull ups in the mix in order to balance the pushing work from the pushups....you might have shoulder health issues later on if you don't (speaking from experience)

I’ll take any and all help! Also noted I’ll start doing some pull ups too. Just really hate them lol! But same could be said about running when I first started.

Hey everyone,

Posting very late on this but got my packet submitted for this board (Oct didn't get through due last minute admin issues).

Applying: SNA
ASTB: 51 - 6/7/6
Major: Business Admin
GPA: 3.3
Age: 29
Prior: No
Flight Exp: Yes
Waivers: No

Since I'm late to the party - do we input the scores into the sheet ourselves or is there a volunteer doing it?

Also more of a runner at the moment - Can breeze the minimums for push ups but definitely not maxing it out. Calisthenics are great and all but harder to motivate myself on those that to just go running.

Use the sheet link in the form. If you can’t, I’ll pop em in.

This reminded me of a time I was on a crew where we were doing a 12.0 (which turned into a 13.4 thanks to A/R overfueling us) and some guys got into a weird "my pre-work out is better than yours" bro science match. Escalated to a point where one guy loudly announced that he made his own pre workout.

I keep it simple myself, eat right and run (trying to put more weight training in there but the farthest I like going is pullups lol). I'm sure I'd perform better taking supplements and things like that but after that conversation....hard no from me lmao

10:30 ain't too bad if you consider the minimum is 15:23 - 2 months of running 3x p/week at below threshold pace (like 9 to 9:30 p/mlie) and you can easily get that down below 10:00 without trying to do a PR each time and having your lungs feel like they are on fire.

The biggest lie HS sports taught me is "pain is gain" in relation to running. Scale back the intensity and you can enjoy the ride more.
