Hi again!
Since I am planning on doing a retake I went on Amazon to try and find more study books. I could not find any Barron OAR study booklets, where did you guys get yours and what books helped the most?

What do you mean by "the ASTB portion" ? I thought the ASTB was the OAR? Sorry, I'm a bit of a newbie.

The OAR has to do with the Mechanical comprehension, Mathematic reasoning, and Reading Comprehension. The OAR alone is used to submit to any boards that are not aviation related (Supply, Intel, Even AMDO i believe). the ASTB is a combination of the OAR and 4 additional Tests. the ANIT (which is Knowledge of aviation, Nautical, and History of the Navy), NATFI ( which gives you two different statements and you pick the one that represents you the closest), the PBM (this has a combination of the UAV portion, Dichotic listening and joystick and throttle with a couple of emergency situations), and lastly the BI-RV (this helps determine your past experiences with flying). after the test youll be given a score (Exp. 65 7/7/7) the OAR portion is the 65 whereas the 7/7/7 is the ASTB.

Yes that will definitely help. But nothing can really prepare you to track two targets at once. Just remember to breathe and keep your eyes in between both targets, using peripheral vision to track both simultaneously.

This may sound stupid to some but i used this to help focus on multi tasking

wow I take back what I said, I just tried the "multitask game" and this can definitely help you! You can use that same peripheral vision concept I talked about earlier!

Hey everyone! I take the ASTB on Friday and have been taking practice tests and studying like crazy. As I am sure that everyone is aware, there is so much material that I know I wont remember all of it but would like to make sure I at least go over most of it. So If anyone has any last minute advice or need to know things please reach out! Thank you!

Manage your time during the test to answer every question. If you need to write down the section start time and time allotted for each section along with an end time, that can help with time management. I found taking 10-15 seconds to write that info on a scratch sheet of paper at the beginning of each section helped with moving myself along through the different sections of the test and I never ran out of time.

For the ASTB just pay attention to the instructions and don't over complicate it.

Thank you! that sounds like a great idea. Would you be willing to do a break down on certain material for each section I should focus on to finish up studying?
