October 2020 CEC Board

Hmm, on AW we're 6 for 6. I wonder if this board had a higher selection rate or if the typical AW poster tends to be better qualified?
I was wondering the same thing... The conclusion I drew was that those of us on AW are more engaged/excited to join and that was evident in our interviews - which is extremely important for CEC. I honestly didn't feel I had the best stats, especially compared to everyone else in this thread but I am extremely excited/motivated join.

An another note, does anyone have a collection resources that detail all of our benefits (Tricare, VA Loans, etc.) and how to make the most of them?

So, what are everyone’s fitness levels right now? I am starting to seriously work on the plank, push-ups and running. I’m not passing currently. I’ve worked construction and at the hospital and other physical jobs for a while, but it takes a toll (now being 33 but totally fine and cleared by MEPS). Just wondering where the other recruits stand... are you guys and ladies studs already with perfect prt?

I used to be a D1 track athlete but I hung up the spikes years ago. If I took the PRT today I am not sure it would go too well... Luckily I'm going as a collegiate so I don't have to worry about going to OCS any time soon.

My recruiter said I should be prepared to take the PRT around April so I'll be getting in shape to do well on it by then.

I think the planks are going to be what I need to work on the most as well as push-ups.

Also, how do I get access to the Facebook group?

Facebook group (at least for my ascension group) is “CEC collegiate crew” even though I’m not collegiate, but I’m not able to find it. I let my AO know. I don’t want to bother him too much about it, I know how busy he must be... but I’ll bug him later in the week.

That’s awesome about the athletics, I ran with a club that had D1 athletes and they were fast. I feel like the plank is tough too. I saw an article that said 4:20 plank for a score of 100, and 60 cadence push-ups (2 min, one every 2 sec) 45 for women. And a 10 min mile and a half.

If anyone is in my area of the country and wants to work out feel free to DM me. Don’t want to give out too much info here but I’m in the south region.

Also on your question about benefits, all you have to know is as a CEC officer you will be extremely well taken care of. YouTube or a recruiter or vet can help you with the rest ?.

I was selected on thursday for collegiate so I won't go to OCS until 2022 either. When my AO called me he said we should be getting an email soon with info on it but I have not gotten it yet. Thankful for the relief of being selected though.

I was a D1 gymnast at Maryland (retired spring 2019 and was in the sport for 15 years) so everything except for my running is at or above excellent. We don’t do a whole lot of running in gymnastics so it’s not a strong suit for any of us unless we train it extra on the side... just started to train running as of yesterday again, gotta learn to like it but it’s hard haha

I asked my recruiter on the timeline of swearing in. He said that the official results haven't been posted yet and I guess that means that FINSEL's haven't been sent out yet. Just hoping to swear in before the new year!

Same. The Facebook group CEC Collegiate Crew works is visible now with a Facebook search. The admins have to approve you (my AO and another CEC officer are the admins).
