SWO Board 09 NOV 20

So, I realize I should not have said everyone. But the information from a couple of users telling the 29 yo applicant that he needed a waiver was false. So I linked the PA to show why it was false. Your comment was absolutely correct though.

My comment came word for word from the PA and I can see where someone would get the information mixed up. If you read different instructions it does quote different ages for example 29 comes from the 1420, so its easy to get this process misconstrued because there are several instructions all covering one process, However we all have good intentions on what advice we give when we give it and its up to the applicant to take what they can from this and apply it to their package moving forward.

With that being said please take a hard look at the following:
Program Authorization (SWO)
OCS Checklist
OPNAVINST 1420.B
COMNAVCRUITCOMINST 1131.2G
Information is spread out amongst all these instructions on what to do smh.

So my recruiter finally got back to me and he said he doesn’t think he can submit me for this board until 17AUG gives me the pro rec y or n. Can anybody confirm this is the case. I know you can be submitted for different boards at the same time so not sure why I wouldn’t be able to be submitted for this board as well

Creating this post for the upcoming 09NOV20 Navy SWO PROBOARD. I have read that they only spend a few minutes looking at packages. That seems counter productive to their FAQ Guidance on NPC which states getting recognized for SOQ and Volunteering boosts competitiveness for example. If they only read the transcripts portion how will they ever determine sustained superior performance? Kind of discouraging. Good luck to everyone out there. It will be my 1st board as well.

NPC has routinely had outdated or info that is available publicly that tends to be politically correct in regards to OCS programs.

That info they posted is good for advancement boards on the enlisted side, and probably LDO/CWO programs.

Applying for SWO as my 2nd option for the NOV board, Intel is my first option for NOV board as well (do need OAR waiver, so I will probably miss it). Will be my first time, so I do plan to retake my OAR (which I took 4 years ago for the 2nd time) to show improvement if I do not make it this time up, since it will be my last chance.
MM1, 10 years in.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3.90 GPA
Interviews: O-6, O-3, O-3 for Intel and 1 O-6 for SWO (reservist, CCC said it is okay)
LOR: O-7 (previous CO)
Awards: 2xNAMS, 1xJSAM, MOVSM, The President's Volunteer Service Award.

Does anybody know how long does it usually take to get the results after the board is convened?
Good luck to the people who applied for AUG board, and to the rest who applied for NOV!

I’m on the 17 AUG board, 5th week of waiting and no official prorec y/n but some of us have had our recruiters inform us of a class date

MM1 here as also, good looking stats. Where is your degree from? Maybe I missed it, but what was your OAR?
