I thought it used to be 35 a few years ago and in 2010 or so the dropped it to 35. Referring to SWO.

I'm pretty sure the only issue is if you have a pending medical or security problem

OR told me I have to get my clearance approved first before my package submitted. An entire year and just missed out on yet another board.

So everyone that is prorec-y has to/is going to OCS by June? Was notified that we should be going to ocs by Nov/December..

No, he was talking about someone who was age critical. They weren't selected so he was saying that the reason was he would have to be at OCS by June in order to commission within the age range. With the current backlog of OCS, that just isn't feasible. Those who were pro rec Y this board are all pretty much heading out July at the earliest.

Ahh figured. Yeah was notified by my OR that we're looking at Nov/December realistically... Hopefully it's within the year. Want to get the ball rolling.

Same here. But I am hoping for one of the September classes. It wouldn't be as cold in Newport while I'm there!

At least for SWO, there are at least two boards-worth of selectees (Summer and October) before you. November doesn't seem that far-fetched considering the current SWO quota estimate might change come Academy and NROTC graduation time.

EDIT: Don't get discouraged though. Weird stuff happens in the magical world of FINSEL purgatory.

Just found out I have to wait until I graduate in May before I get my FINSEL. Then I have to send proof of graduation and my final GPA to the board.

You mention a "backlog" of OCS, but I feel like I have seen quite a few SNA/NFO applicants already get their FINSEL even though they just got the PRO Y back in February. I received my PRO Y during the same board, and can't help but start to feel nervous since it's been almost three weeks since my OR submitted all of my security clearance information and fingerprints... Still no word back.
