Sir, what is the longest you or one of your recruits has had to wait for results to come out?

from when a remote board was confirmed to have started 2-3 weeks max, but there were several times we waited longer only to find out the remote board never actually started on time for one reason or another.

for the most part if you get a pro Y you will eventually go to OCS, some of the recent IDC boards have had up to a 9 month wait, I have seen some IDC wait 2 years.

2yrs?! Lol, I'll be in a retirement home by then. Lol but in all seriousness, I am assuming that the timeline depends on how fast and complete you take care of things you need to/ can complete and then just wait on the backgrounds. Shouldn't be an issue then.

Have all you been checking BOL this morning? I'm not logged into a computer so I'm only following on my phone. I'm relying on you guys for up to date information.

it is more about billets available with IDC then the other things.

RUFIO put out on a post NRC changed the policy all applicants now have to have MEPS done prior to submission, this group is the last one to not have to do MEPS, and I believe it was he or DIVO said the investigation has to be complete, that open is no longer good enough for IDC.

I can confirm that my NRD wouldn't submit my packet to NRC until I had the N3M letter saying I was physically qualified. It literally came down to the last day in the window because I had to have all my medical documents sent from another NRD where I started my application. Bottom line: My NRD would not forward the package until I already had the N3M letter.

Been jumping on that grenade the past month. The worst thing to come of it was got shipmated a few times. Without the collective effort it's pointless.

I don't know if it was Navy wide, but a few years back we were instructed to stop saying "shipmate". It seemed like it was used in a negative connotation 98% of the time. Lol

I specifically asked my OR about whether I needed to have MEPS done before submitting my package for the December board and he said, "No." I hope my package doesn't get sent back causing me to have to wait for the March board. Is that an NRD policy or a NRC policy?

Re: the investigation, that just seems like a complete waste of time and money to require the security investigation be complete before an individual receives a Pro-Rec. To think that, to use this board as an example, the people who conduct those background checks would have to do 450 or so of them for only 45 or so people getting selected just seems like a complete waste of time and money.

In bootcamp I was taught that if you don't know a fellow Sailors' name, to call him or her "Shipmate". I still use the term today and will continue to do so after I'm commissioned.
