I just want to also confirm that BOL shows nothing. They should think about putting Google advertisements on that page. I am sure they would raise a lot of revenue.

Same here got nothing. I don't have time to check BOL since I am all over the place at work but I do check my e-mail on my phone that gives me updates on this thread. Gotta love this site.

Government media does not advertise anything other than cheesy campaigns to reduce water use, electricity etc. Ever seen AFN?
Everyone's a fan of EUCOM-based Armed Forces Network. When I was on the ship or in Afghanistan, we all just LOVED seeing pictures of Italy, with Airman Who's-It telling us to "get outside!"

I would just like to have those options available to more priors as well. I hate the fact that most of the time if your prior, or still AD then you have more than likely aged out of most of the programs. I also find it odd that some of the programs only wave 24monts. I believe that as long as you can do 20 and retire under the max retirement age you should be able to throw your name in the hat. That coupled with the fact that priors do not even have the option to go back to AD even if they wanted to stings a little, but I guess thats the way it goes when AD Marine's get a "Latte Salute" ;)
I'm 8 months out from aging out for SWO. Already got my PROREC, just waiting on my PQ and FS. Good luck to you!

Was that the one with the ghost of Galileo sitting on the couch with the couple? My personal favorite was the one with the two boys on the beach where they walked up on a giant beer gut. They're poking at it with a stick while talking then say to each other, someone must have lost it while running on the beach.

Yes! AFN commercials are the worst. The guys on the ship I rode with used to sit there and poke fun at the different All Hands Update MCs; it was funny, but in a terrible way. Honestly, if it weren't for sports, AFN would be next to unwatchable.

I hate when you think something good is about to load on BOL and all it's really doing is logging you off because you have been inactive for too long.

Out of curiosity, can any of the ORs (or anyone else that knows) comment on what usually gets included in boxes 21, 22 & 23 of the APSR ("Officer Recruiter's Remarks," "Officer Processor's Summary," and "Recruiting Operations Officer (R-OPS) Remarks")? Also, how is box 24 determined ("Based on all available information, it is my opinion that the applicant is recommended as follows for appointment in the U.S. Navy or U.S. Navy Reserve for the programs listed above in order of preference listed")? Thanks.

I thought 31 was the prior service cutoff age for SWO? I could be wrong, it's just news to me. Means I may have another shot if this board doesn't go well for me.

at my NRD OR's remarks were what they thought about the person and their interaction and such, processors didn't put much at all unless it dealt with some paperwork, ROPS would review the kit and put his thoughts based on what he saw.

the recommended part was generally always highly recommended, anything other than that and it was pretty much not worth sending up.

I thought it was 27. Good to know.
Think it's already been said here but I'll say it again. Active Duty guys really need to read OPNAVINST 1420.1 all the way through. I feel comfortable saying Most of is have. Civilians refer to CNRC program authorizations for each designator for qualifications and ages.
