September 2014 IDC Board

@loui86dz I'm glad to hear that. I didn't think about it but I guess technically I only have six years so I would need, literally, one more day to put me "over 6 years" and into that next pay bracket.

Good to know on the BAH rate. I'm in the greater capital region and have a mortgage. Newport would cover it but DC rates are a little more generous ;)

I completely understand. If I'm fortunate enough to get picked up, I'll have to take a pretty substantive pay cut and I'm trying to do everything I can to ensure that my wife won't be affected too much by my desire to serve again. I've lived in D.C. (actually just outside the beltway in Maryland) a few times and I know that the housing costs there are astronomical. I believe they may be the highest in the country.

Less than a week until this board is scheduled to meet!!! This thread is starting to heat up ladies and gentlemen. How long do you think it will take them to release the results this time around??? My guess is that they will be out to the fleet applicants NLT 30SEP14.

I wish everyone the best of luck. I'm excited to hear how everything turns out for everyone who participated in this thread. I know those of us applying for the December board can't wait until our time comes.

So I am new to this site but the information seemed good so I decided to join. I am in hopes that my stats are good enough to be selected but who knows. Guess I will in about 3 weeks!

With stats like that it looks like supply would have been a good fit for you with the MBA. Just my opinion though.

I am too old for supply unfortunately. Intel sounds really exciting and a change of pace so I am okay extremely excited about the possibility of being selected.

I didn't realize supply had such a young cut off, I'll still never understand the age cut off for priors. I can retire in 15 years at the age of 48 so I don't know what the big deal is about not being able to apply for programs like SWO and NFO ect. I'm not a politician so I'll probably never understand it, I think more along a logical plane so thing that don't make sense I have a hard time wrapping my mind around.

I agree. From my prior military experience and my current experience in the educational arena I have grasped the understanding that logic sometimes is what it is. I just deal with the situations as they arise and am thankful that I am not too old for all the careers. Honestly, I would have chosen INTEL anyway cause I want the challenge!!!

Good evening,

Is anyone else applying for IW as number 1?

Respectfully

On the last day of the application window I found out that fleet applicants can submit a second page one for a total of five designators. With that said I have the following
1. IP 2. AMDO 3. SWO/IP 4. IW 5. CWE (CWE is a DCO program which I interviewd for and was told no already)

It's times like this I wish OPO was still around so we can see if the board is on time....

I only applied for INTEL, but if I do not get selected then I may apply IW, IP and AMDO for the December board. It is a difficult decision because you never know if listing more than one designator will offend certain communities. INTEL really sounds challenging so I am in hopes I don't have to worry about deciding.

I'll take what I can get!! ;) I don't think too many communities will get mad if they are not your first choice, most board members know our first choice is to be a Naval Officer:cool:

From some of the past board result threads, it seems like civilians get results one to two weeks after the fleet applicants. Is that fairly common?
