Since my original "A-6" photo for today got threadjacked/threadsplit off into EA-6A RADAR LOVE :)... here's another variant of the A-6... the F-4's best friend:D... the KA-6D dedicated tanker.

AND ... you managed to find a good photo of those elusive fuselage boards, too ... consider that an ironic, perhaps even borderline heroic effort. :D

TEXACO ... Ol' Smokey's best friend and the "Bagger" and flight time hound's best friend, too ... :)

Great minds and all that... That was my first thought when I saw the photo. :)

Depends, certainly around the ramp in vicinity of other aircraft but we never needed them for hauling it back from the compass rose or such, just a brake rider.

Old R.O. Picture of the Day for 1 July 2008

When Old R.O. was just a SNFO

Te9GlyncoJun72.jpg

T-39D NAS Glynco, Ga., spring 1972.
Just before or just after this photo was taken, VT-86 stood up. Before that it was just NATTC Glynco. The squadron moved to Pensacola a couple of years later.

Some of the first air-to-air that I shot... pocket 110 camera.

Pretty sure I walked past that dude in Rome in November.

Iraq. He survived, despite multiple gunshot and shrapnel wounds. He had to defend himself for quite a while before rescued.
