121.5 MHz, the VHF guard freq that I'm sure AF simulcasts on when they transmit Guard... at least I'd hope so....

But he has to have a radio tuned . . . civvies don't always monitor guard.

Before this thread completely dies, let's take it in another direction:

What are some of the best/funniest/outright mean callsigns that you have heard?

Ask me about ninjas!
Phrog, you ever run across Assassin? That man's a warrior. Too bad he's retired now. And great story behind the callsign, too.

I had IHTFP on a tattered, partially burnt, stained piece of paper that I hung up by my desk for four years. I even marched tours for not taking it down.

NWOH - PM me if you want to know... Put it on here, and I'd piss too many people off :D

Of course, if a civilian on a tour sees IHTFP scrawled somewhere (and the sometimes do), the proper answer is that it stands for one of two things:

1. I Hope There's a Friday Parade
2. I Hope To Fly Planes

The Blues once had a LT XXX "Fudge" Packer (I forgot his real first name). It even listed his callsign in the show guide.

The A-6 bubbas on the TR had a guy called Sperm.

All the following were in my A-6 squadron:

"Big" Johnson (he was 6'4" and 230)
"Stiffy"
"Lick" Mawhinney
"Boner"
"Stroke"

and of course, "Meat".

"Lick" and "Big" were both pilots I flew with a lot. Imagine the briefing board:

Lizard 500 - Big/Meat (or) Lick/Meat

What were they (evil Big Navy) going to do? Decommission us?

Oh, that's right they did.:icon_rage

Great list here: http://www.safetycenter.navy.mil/media/approach/whatsyourcallsign/

I submitted most of the above but they decided not to include them.:(
