That's too bad dude. At least you have that LOR in your corner. I hope that it works out and your recruiter is right on this specific issue. Through the whole application process part of me has been wishing that I wasn't Sel-Res because it really has made it tougher as far as required paperwork, but I have confidence that it will all be worth it in the end.

I agree, I was thinking of just going IRR. That paperwork is a lot easier than waiting on the folks in TN

Murph,
I feel like you and I are in the same boat, my friend. I live in South Carolina so my package shouldn't take long to get there. However, I cannot give you the answer to how long it takes once it gets there to be approved/rejected. Anyone else have input?

I have been told that email/electronic submissions generally take the same amount of time from anypoint in the US :D

From my understanding it is still E-5, but my processor had told me previously that being I was a prior E-5 I would be paid at my exit rank no matter what. (I had made E-6 on text but never put on, and if I had put it on, I would have been paid for E-6 through OCS)

That makes since. I was curious about how that worked for priors who aren't currently affiliated at all with the military, but that is good that they get paid according to their exit rank (or whichever is higher, E-5 or their exit pay grade)

Yes I am a reservist. Well the first time that I routed my conditional release it took about three weeks but that was in December around the holidays so I assume that it may be faster this time of year. I only had to get an extension this time because, I decided not to apply to the March board so I could improve my ASTB scores. As far as your CO signing the 368, that may not be good enough because from what my OR told me only someone in Manpower (at Pers-9) is authorized to sign the 368. However you are supposed to route the 368 with a LOR from your CO. I don't know if I am right or wrong on this however and maybe NavyOffRec can clarify on the gouge your recruiter gave you on your conditional release.

If caught that the 368 isn't signed by PERS9 the application will get kicked back, sucks, had this happen.

Even if IRR 368 still needs to be routed as you are still in USNR and counted for manning.

My OR said it wouldn't be long before they had another board as they had an unannounced one on Feb 28th. He suspects there will be one every month until the official June board. Just waiting on some waivers... hope they get in before the next board.

I'm putting in for SNA.

Solid LORs and volunteer hours

Goodluck to everyone. Hope to see some of you soon

My 368 was originally signed by my unit CO. Only the 368 was kicked back, my OCS application was left alone. I didn't get my 368 back from PERS until about a week after I got my final select. Maybe it was overlooked because of the high demand for pilots. I was probably the exception and not the rule.

I had to send my 368 to PERS unsigned with an endorsement letter from my NOSC CO. The endorsement letter was just a template. Your unit YN should have one they can copy and paste your name into.

Thanks for letting me know, I am going to contact my NOSC this morning.

Awesome...just found out my recruiter is out of the office until Monday. I hope this rumored Friday deadline isn't set in stone

I have seen this go a few ways, sometimes NRC would let the application go if the 368 was at PERS9, sometimes it had to be signed by PERS9, I think it really just depends on which NRC processor reviews it.

Either way, I need to get it to PERS no I guess...thanks for the input NavyOffRec.

I hope that works out man, whichever way it goes! I am anxiously waiting for my 368 extension to come back signed. Hopefully my OR is right on the fact that there may not be an actual hard deadline since some say they could be having "rolling" type boards.

Still waiting to hear back from N3M about my depth perception. Failed it at MEPS, only to have 25 seconds of arc at a civilian optometrist. I hope that paperwork is done by the presumptive "Friday deadline". Otherwise package is submitted and I'm fully PQ'd for both.

In for SNA/SNFO

Positive LORs from current direct supervisor and manager. Two from senior enlisted (prior OCS RDC). Two more rounding it out from current airline pilots at my employer (both of which former Naval Aviators).

Hope we know soon either way. Hopefully sooner than later for me, being that I'm 28 and time is not on my side for SNA.
