Always a favorite picture of mine. In large part because it's me coming home from deployment. Well, actually, I'm in the -60 to the viewers left that you can't see, but still, it's my guys in the back of the H-3 and that aircraft (ER57) was a det bird on both deployments, and a solid performer.

I'm actually down in the LSO shack in that pic. That was us on our first day of deployment. The shot you posted earlier w/ the H-3 was the last day coming home. We set up a deal w/ a MC (or whatever they were back then) to fly in a third squadron bird to take pictures of the helos and ship in Pearl (by the memorial) and then by Diamond head. That one is one of the better ones that came out. I took one of the ones by the memorial and made it my farewell mat picture.

There are some East Coast LAMPS legends flying in those aircraft, including the now CO of -37. The other HAC probably instructed several first tour guys here on the site while in the HSL East RAG.

My LPO. If you're in the Houston Continental regional terminal, there's a USO ad that uses the pic, but it's cropped way down. I had to stop and study it for a moment before I realized that was us. Unfortunately not the happiest of days for AD1 that day.
