you are under the assumption someone is actually going to read the motivational statement.

I wholly understand the assumption that the board doesn't care, but the fact of the matter is that it IS portion of the package and you are submitting it to represent yourself... on the off chance they do look, I'd rather not have gaffed it off in an effort to save what for me was less than 6 hours of thought/writing to put together a statement which I think represents me well.

If a person had a waiver I would make sure you use that space to address what you can, but if no waiver they have no reason to look at that section, now if a person isn't going for SNA/SNFO then it is a different story.

They often knock out the board in one day, so they are looking at roughly 250 applications in 8 hours, so if they did nothing else maybe 2 minutes per application, but when you factor in lunch, piss breaks, etc you are lucky to get 1 minute per application, if the ASTB is good than really no worries. Once I was told how it really works I had my applicants focus on what was important, the ASTB.

ASTB is complete and I'm happy with my score... I guess I'm just trying to stack the deck as much in my favor as I can.

Hey guys!

I'll be applying to this board after my recruiter telling me that "There were too many applicants last cycle. Navy met quota for fiscal year 19. We will need to resubmit your application for September."

Has anyone else personally experienced this before?

Good luck to everyone!!!

There definitely were a fair amount of selections in the August board. It seems like there are a ton of competitive packets this cycle though so I’m not sure if it’s any easier. I’m sure your recruiter knows more about the distribution of selections than I do.
Good luck man! Hope to see you in OCS.

Hope I can make this board. LASIK 6 month wait just finished and I have to get the other items done along with getting a letter from my Retina specialist saying my CHRPE is dormant.

If you search some of the other threads you will see that your recruiter is either lying to you or just has no clue about recruiting.

Honestly it just sounds like your package didn't make it to the board. Best of luck this time around!
