Idk if you've figured out AntiMicroX. Theres a post from August 16, 2024 on this thread that has a tutorial video for mapping controls. It definitely takes some tweaking, but I was able to get it working. AntiMicroX should basically just set your joystick up to be the mouse cursor and your throttle to push the "W" and "S" buttons after a certain threshold is reached in each direction. At least that's how I got it working.

I got my X56 hotas to connect to the ASTB prep app on my mac. Would you say jantzen's sim is better than the app or vice versa? Or are they similar in helping me prep for my test? Personally, I find the app to be a bit easier to set up, but it does require an additional $9.99 to access it using the stick and throttle. I guess that's worth it to practice

I haven’t had the chance to try ASTB Prep with the stick/throttle on the app. I would assume it’s pretty similar for getting the muscle memory and reaction time. I really like the ability to change the difficulty on Jantzen’s. For me, the dichotic listening in the app is definitely better than on Jantzen’s, though both are helpful. Hope that helps. yeah! I've been logging my progress and it my reaction time and accuracy have been significantly improving with the app's cockpit and listening portions! Thanks for your insight!

The Thrustmaster Hotas works very well. Got one myself a couple of weeks ago and used it with this simulator to practice for the ASTB. Before I found this simulator, I took the ASTB in March 2025 and got a 50 5/7/6. Just retook the test today and got a 58 8/9/9. This simulator was perfect. For reference, if you can get consistent 100-120 for scores on the hardest difficulty on the sim, you will pass easily on the test. For the other parts of the test, I used two ASTB apps on iPhone (one costs about $40 but really helps with the OAR, ANIT, and the performance tests).

Super helpful info, thank you! Quick question: how did you map your buttons on the throttle and stick to match how the controls work on the actual test? I'd really like to set mine up the same way you did since you had such great results.
