Well, finally done with primary, caught back up on this thread. My only reasoning now is that... "if there is gouge, there is no gouge." I think fiscal year did play into effect on a few things, mainly just if you would be shoved through or sit around and wait. As far as the numbers, it just seemed like the random crazy ass week to week fluctuations. Everyone in my squadron.. all three of us got our first choice (even the marine with a high nss, got first choice helo, no jet drafting). Can't say the same for whiting or my across the hanger squadron, but I know there was a bunch of guys/gals selecting and I wiggled into the only Navy tailhook spot. Maybe I was the only one wanting it, and I don't know what the actual spread was, doesn't prob. matter because next week will be different.
So, I didn't worry about it anymore than the question I asked on here. Went back to work and focused on the rest of RI's where you can make up a lot of ground, especially early blocks when MIF is low. I can only imagine the only saving grace in a low # week for the platform you desire is to have the Highest NSS possible. I wouldn't consider a TACMED down, because it is douche' and the squadron is prob going to recognize this and might create a bad rap. (just my dumb Ens .02, different situations, will well......differ).
