I'm all for the X-33, and I am also hoping the Breiting side of the house picks up a bit more steam so we can satisfy them too.
Titanium is supposed to have a certain amount of self-healing properties, that is light scratches react with the air in some way to "oxidize' into looking less scratched. I've had mine for 2 years and wear it nearly every day...it still looks good.Is there anyone who is not set on the X-33 that would like a speedmaster professional instead? I am more of a fan of stainless steel watches for their ease of repair in comparison to titanium. A steel band may only need to be buffed out where you would have been forced to get a new band if it were titanium.
And FWIW the X-33 is actually a Speedmaster Professional (there are many watches in the SP line, not just the legendary Moonwatch). Splitting hairs, perhaps.
... the appeal that the Omega ....
Something that could work is a watch with pilot wings on the face, and a different watch with NFO wings on the face. Just a thought, and a post to see if anyone else would be interested.
Any input is appreciated!
They are however looking at a rather long wait prior to delivery. Our representative is checking with Switzerland to verify the delay, but it is looking like six months till we have watches in hand.
Dear LCDR XXXXXXX,
The casebacks for the watches are still not complete. The casebacks sent to the engraver could not be used and we are awaiting additional parts from the manufacturer. The delay will be at least an additional
3-4 weeks until they will be able to ship to me since the watches will need to go through QC prior.
Unfortunately, I cannot discount the watches any further. The best that I can offer to help defray the cost from you and also expedite to the recipients is Omega will ship direct to each participant. If there is anyone that wishes to cancel the order, I understand and will have your money refunded.
Regards,
Jennifer Makar
