Yup, more blame Trump fake news.
A contract was awarded but challenged by the loser. Under preexisting regulations, it was put on hold while the dispute was settled. Then in January when COVID-19 was first starting to become an issue, the dispute was settled and work begun.
But the truth doesn’t make Trump look bad...

Since he was trying to run into a USNS ship would that count as domestic terrorism? Even if it would do you think they would bother or just give the guy a psych exam, determine he is off his rocker and put him in a funny farm for several years.

In fairness the ventilator thing is only part of the Trump administration in that the Trump administration is responsible for all agencies and the buck stops there. However, maintaining the stockpile, to include the services contract, was a DHHS responsibility. Does being a GS who owns a $40M services contract makes some poor bastard part of the Trump admin? Or is it just some GS who until a few months ago was just trying to figure out a contract protest?

Nope, there is plenty more where that came from, unfortunately. This ticks all the boxes, no matter which flavor conspiratorial theory you are involved with. The Chinese are attacking us, check. The government is using this to control the population and take everyone's freedom, check. The government will use this institute internal passports, check. The entire thing is a hoax, to further X, Y and Z, check.
The strange thing is that some many people that are seemingly normal, have one area where they are totally divorced from reality. There are a relatively large number of people that truly believe that Sandy Hook never happened, and everyone involved were government paid actors.....

Being ready for a pandemic is up there with being ready for a full-on war. There ought to have been a "greenie" board of key items of readiness that gets touched on, on a regular basis by senior leadership. If you took over the top job as CO/Director, what would your first actions be in getting the lay of the land? Its not like folks didn't know ventilators weren't important, that's why there was a contract.
Why were 2,000 bad ones even shipped in the first place? How much time was wasted sending them and receiving them?
It was an "own goal", and they deserve the bad press they get.
