05MAY2025 SNA/SNFO Board

The deadline for the May board was April 5th. If your package wasn’t received and OK’d by Processing before that, then you wouldn’t have been seen by that board.

There were no Aviation boards in June, and the July board was cancelled. The next one on the schedule is September 15th, so your package is most likely in the mix for that one.
If I applied as ISEL a couple weeks ago would I more than likely hear back prior to the September board date?

I’m between a rock and a hard place if I should try another branch. I haven’t gotten on a board yet to see. I am prior service in the USMC, 180 hrs of flight time, 3.6 GPA in Aviation Science, 6 5 5 ASTB, and I’d like some advice on NFO selection? Should I stick with it or try another branch?

Do you want to fly for the Navy? Yes or No

I was just picked up from the May board and people with your scores have been selected. I would encourage you to put your package in and see what happen. The navy can be very picky and then I can be easy to get selected. You don’t know until you try. Best of luck brother!

Thank you for the information, I was supposed to be on the board but my recruiter didn’t send up my package in time I guess.

Yes I really do, I just don’t know if I’ll get accepted. I was just curious if I actually have a shot or not for either NFO or Pilot.
If you look over time like decades score at 8 and 9 almost always get picked up, 7's were 50/50, with others as a crapshoot. There was a several years stretch where no one with a 5 was picked up SNA, NRC for several years changed the minimums to 6's because 5's weren't getting picked.

I would encourage you too keep studying in preparation for a retest.

Take the time to retest if you’re not confident with your scores. My first go around I got 5, 6, 6… I wasn’t the most confident with them, so I studied for another 2 months.

I went to my recruiters office almost every day (M-F) for those 2 months during my lunch breaks at work, & practiced on the sticks. When I finally retook I scored a 6, 8, 7. Not enough for ISEL but was sure better than before. Submitted my package & got selected for SNA.

I’ve never been the smartest person in the world, or room for that matter, but I’m good at leveraging any of the resources I have available to me. Become obsessed! Obsession, even if it’s to study for that short period of time will pay off. & don’t let the anxieties of ‘getting selected’ stop you from doing your best & submitting your package. Rah? You got this Devil! - HM3
