Looking at the past message traffic it looks like 4 in the past year made the switch, that isn't a lot at all. It seems there are quite a few more that the aviation community is willing to let go, from my count about 80.

Ya when I originally joined the marines I wanted to be a crew chief ended up as a 1345 heavy equipment operator. For me I want to be in the aviation field. I worked on the civilian side as a line tech and enjoyed just working with aviation. I know one day I want to eventually get the rest of my pilot’s licenses. For me just getting a career in aviation would make me happy.
