Just to clarify, most of the astronauts to NOT fully qualify in the T-38. Most are Mission Specialists, and they only fly in the back cockpit.

Yes! Your problem is you need to do an inter-service transfer to the USAF, and then deploy to Bagram or Kandahar. You'll see plenty of them once you do.
