Yeah, that was my point. Some rich dude buys one and probably puts as many hours on his plane in a year as a squadron would in a month. So, airframe inspections/engine inspections/etc, would be a lot fewer and further between, hence less money needed to fund the addiction.

What about flight time itself? The number of hours put on the airframe daily/weekly/etc, would be a lot higher for a military jet than a civilian version, which I would think also makes a huge difference in the maintenance reqs.

Excellent reason why you should always make copies of stuff that may be abnormal in your record. The run-of-the-mill annual flight physical, probably not, but if you've got a waiver or something similar I'd recommend making a copy and putting it in a safe place.

I dunno how much each instructor clears, but when we checked into the squadron they kept saying the sims cost the squadron around $800 for each one (the full motion helo sims). So, figure you can have 6 of those per block, 15 times a day, that adds up.

Dude, at USNA, if you've got some free electives, take something you want to take and will enjoy. You'll have a more than sufficient background for API and whatever else may come along. If you can make your ac load less painful, do it, and that in turn may help that gpa of yours.

I used the spacea.net several times, it's got a good bit of info on it. Plus, it's usually a lot easier to Space-A once your overseas than getting a flight from CONUS to somewhere. Try and go out of the big airports, i.e, Dover, Andrews, etc, as you'll have a better chance of getting a flight...
